With start\/end stops Kifisia \u2013 Piraeus<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Red line, line 2: With start\/end stops Anthoupoli \u2013 Eliniko<\/li>\r\n \t<li>Blue line, line 3: With start\/end stops Airport \u2013 Douk.Plakentias \u2013 Aghia Marina<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"which metro tickets athens\">Which metro tickets can I buy best?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\nPublic transport in Athens is not expensive. You can see different tickets below. With these tickets you can make unlimited use of the bus, metro, tram and regional train in Athens \ud83d\ude42\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Single ticket<\/strong>: This ticket is a\u00a0<strong>one way<\/strong>. It doesn&#8217;t matter where you go. You pay a fixed price and can then travel wherever you want within Athens. You can also use it to switch to another line. As long as you stay within the metro network. Do you ever go outside? Then you can throw away your ticket, because then it is no longer valid. This ticket costs \u20ac1.20.The single ticket is also available in discount packages of 2, 5 and 10+1 tickets. Discount tickets are only loaded on personalized Athenacards (see later in this article).\r\n&#8211;<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Day ticket<\/strong>: If you want to travel for 1 full day <strong>unlimited <\/strong> in Athens you can buy a day ticket. It is wise to buy a day pass if you plan to travel by metro in Athens 3 times or more. A day pass costs \u20ac4.10. I would quickly opt for the day pass, because the price difference with a one-way ticket is minimal.\r\n&#8211;<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>5-day ticket<\/strong>: you can purchase this ticket if you want to buy several days staying in Athens and wanting to travel by metro. You pay \u20ac8.50 for this.\r\n&#8211;<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>3-day tourist ticket<\/strong>: this ticket has 72 uses and is ideal for a city trip of a few days. A big additional advantage: the <strong>trip to and from Athens Airport is included<\/strong>. This ticket costs \u20ac20.\r\n&#8211;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTickets can be purchased at any metro station. Don&#8217;t forget to stamp your ticket at the machine before boarding. There are no special discounted tickets for students. The above prices may differ, because prices are adjusted annually. As with the OV chip card, it can be personal or anonymous. With this card you mainly save time, but also single journeys, 5 ticket pack and 10+1 ticket pack, are slightly cheaper. All tickets mentioned above can be loaded on the ATH.ENA card. You can purchase the ATH.ENA Card at any ticket counter.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAnother additional advantage is that you can check in via an app on your phone \ud83d\ude42 You must have a personal ATH.ENA card for this.\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"by metro from the airport to Athens center\">By metro from the airport to Athens center<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\nFrom\u00a0Athens Airport\u00a0you can travel to the center of Athens by bus or metro.\r\n<strong>The bus<\/strong> is the cheapest (\u20ac5.50). You then take bus line X95. The bus takes about 60 minutes to get to the center.\r\n<strong>The metro <\/strong>(line 3) is the fastest. You can reach the city center in 40 minutes by metro. A single ticket costs \u20ac9. There is also a return ticket, but it is only valid for 48 hours .. so if you stay in Athens for more than a day (which I do expect) it is of no use to you. The first metro from the center departs around 5.40 am. The last metro from the airport leaves at 11:30 PM. The metro line runs approximately every half hour.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPeople older than 65 and younger than 18 can travel with a discount. They pay \u20ac2.70 for the bus or \u20ac4.50 for the metro.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTickets can be purchased at the ticket counter and the machines at Athens Airport station.
