Today I visited the market hall in Rotterdam. The market hall is a daily fresh food market with little shops and restaurants. It is an amazing building with a very impressive painted roof. It is an artwork by Arno Coenen named Horn of Plenty, or in Dutch: Hoorn des Overvloeds. It shows big fruits, vegetables, seeds, fish, flowers and insects.\u00a0I went to the market hall bij train. From the train station it is a 2 minute walk to the market hall. The market hall can als be reached very easily by car. There is enough parking space underneath the building. An escalator from the parking space will bring you immediately to the market hall.<\/p>\n

Food markets all over the world have been a source of inspiration for the market hall in Rotterdam. \u00a0I must say, a visit to Rotterdam’s market hall is a real happening. It is filled with restaurants, bars, and little food stands (nuts, cheeses, macarons, herbs, spices etc.). Your hear people talk and laugh and it is very hard to resist all that food.<\/p>\n

What did I buy?<\/h2>\n

First of all I bought some cocosballs from Madame Cocos. There were samples on the counter to try. I took one and it was delicious! Very, very good! So I bought 6 cocosballs. They have different flavors. I took ‘bitterkoekjes’ and white chocolate. A ‘bitterkoekje’ is a Dutch cookie. By the way: I did not buy all 6 cocosballs for myself. I brought them home for my mom, sisters and boyfriend,\u00a0haha\ud83d\ude07<\/p>\n

I also bought some French macarons, a meringue and a\u00a0chorizo sausage for my boyfriend.\u00a0It is not very expensive. I expected it to be more expensive.<\/p>\n

Donuts, donuts, donuts!!!<\/h2>\n

Personally, I don’t like donuts at all, but look at all those donuts below! It spontaneously makes me like donuts. My sister made the picture in the market Hall of Rotterdam. Both my sisters took donuts home.\u00a0And they were goooddddd\u00a0\ud83d\ude0d<\/span><\/span>\ud83d\ude0d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Would I recommend the Market Hall in Rotterdam?<\/h2>\n

I would definitaly recommend to visit the Market Hall in Rotteradm once. I really liked my visit. The building is very impressive and the food is delicious. I missed some spots to sit down though. We couldn’t find somewhere to sit and enjoy our food. But hey, it’s just a detail. I liked it very much!\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
